Acrylic material is sensitive to many different chemicals which are found in everyday household products. We hope that the following cleaning guide will help ensure the durability of your new product.

DO -

You can clean your acrylic items with a soft cloth (we recommend a soft microfibre cloth) and a mild soap solution (dishwashing liquid) and lukewarm water. Apply only light pressure and only use a clean cloth to prevent surface scratches. For extra clean and shine, you can use a cleaner which is specifically recommended for use with acrylic like Vupelex Plastic Antistatic Cleaner.

DON'T -

Never use the same cloth that you clean other household items with. There may be remaining residue and chemicals which can damage the acrylic.

Do not use window cleaner, alcohol or ammonia products (commonly used in many all-purpose household cleaners), chemical sprays, solvents, thinners, abrasive cleaners. These products can cause a variety of problems, including but not limited to, the acrylic becoming cloudy/opaque, acrylic crazing, and surface scratching.

Do not use abrasive pads, stiff brushes, paint scrapers or razor blades. Even paper towels may cause slight surface scratches.

Some polythene products including poly bags and cling film may cause surface crazing especially when also exposed to direct sunlight.

WARNING -

The list of above items are by no means every item which can cause damage to acrylic therefore it is essential to always check a products suitability for use with acrylic.
